Banff National Park is one of Canada’s oldest national park. It was constructed in 1885 in the Rocky Mountains, Canada. It is situated about 110 miles to west of Calgary in the county of Alberta, covers about 2564 square miles of hilly land, with many glaciers, thick forest, and alpine sceneries. The Ice fields throughway expands from the Lake Louise, linking to Jasper National Park from the north. Regional forests and Yoho National are adjacent from the west whereas Kootenay National which is situated to the south. The major business centre of the place is in the town of Banff, in the Bow River basin.

The Canadian Pacific Railway was helpful in Banff’s before time years, constructing the Banff Springs inn and Chateau Lake Louise, and, draws the attentions of the tourists by doing major advertisement campaigns for Banff National Park .

 

Before the start of 20th century, roads were constructed at the Banff almost throughout the area, making through the Great Depression (economically downfall era).

 

From 1960 to till the date, the Banff National Park  is open for its tourists from all over the world, it remains open all year, at the estimations the  tourism has been boosted in 1990s, and reached up to 5 million tourists who visit the place every year.

 

There are millions of paths to enter the place from the Trans-Canada Highway as it is the most popular tourist attraction in the area not only it attract the residents of the Canada but it attracts worldwide tourists as well.

 

With the increase in tourism the Banff National Park the natural beauty has been compromised by many means now the management has been getting very cautious about the preservation of the environment and they have made new strategies with the collaboration of the park’s management.
