Koh Samui is an island in the group of islands in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Samui in Surat Thani province has an area of 247 square kilometers is the main tourist island in Surat Thani. Located 258 nautical miles south of Bangkok, and approximately 84 kilometers east of the provincial capital, Koh Samui has the widest measure of 21 kilometers, and the longest 25 yards. Has a ring 51 kilometers along the coast road and most of the surrounding islands, Koh Samui has many beautiful beaches and bays, and almost literally referred to as the island of coconuts and forested hills.

The island can be reached by ferry or plane. Based on the book Lonely Planet, Koh Samui Phuket has beautiful beaches but not equal too crowded with tourists. Mae Nam is a small town, situated on the edge of the beach like other cities in Koh Samui. Many foreigners settle down for a long time in this town, mingling with the local people. Quiet town atmosphere in Mae Nam you can feel and see how Thai people’s lives every day. Samui’s best beaches line located on the peninsula of the North and East, which is the most popular Hat Chaweng and Hat Lamai, where generally attractive and unique accommodation can be found.

At the South end of Lamai Bay are rock formations called Hin Ta Hin Yai, the scenery in the form of the cliffs at the edge of Lamai Beach.
