Koh Samui is an island in the group of islands in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Samui in Surat Thani province has an area of 247 square kilometers is the main tourist island in Surat Thani. Located 258 nautical miles south of Bangkok, and approximately 84 kilometers east of the provincial capital, Koh Samui has the widest measure of 21 kilometers, and the longest 25 yards. Has a ring 51 kilometers along the coast road and most of the surrounding islands, Koh Samui has many beautiful beaches and bays, and almost literally referred to as the island of coconuts and forested hills.
The island can be reached by ferry or plane. Based on the book Lonely Planet, Koh Samui Phuket has beautiful beaches but not equal too crowded with tourists. Mae Nam is a small town, situated on the edge of the beach like other cities in Koh Samui. Many foreigners settle down for a long time in this town, mingling with the local people. Quiet town atmosphere in Mae Nam you can feel and see how Thai people’s lives every day. A road connects the three waterfalls called Namtok Hin Lat, Namtok Lat Wanon, and Namtok Na Muang, which erode from the West to the South. The best time to visit this waterfall is during the rainy season. Elephant ride is exciting activities at Na Muang waterfall.
By issuing about 150 baht (equivalent to USD 45,000) per person, tourists can ride elephants for 15 minutes. If less, elephant riders could pay more than 30 minutes to about 300 baht (U.S. $ 90,000) per person. Elephants will get around to the rest of the park up to the waterfall.
